This project all started with a dream and a yard. An ample backyard, begging to be more than just a dated, structurally unsound expanse of grass and chain link fencing. Our client had already completed an interior remodel prior, and was excited to start on the exterior. First step, assembling the perfect team. With A\Typical handling the overall vibe and design, we teamed up with Kyzer construction for the concrete, deck, and fencing, and The Ardent Gardener for landscape design and plant selections.

Together, we put our heads together to create this modern oasis in the center of Salt Lake City. We brought in Mediterranean vibes with a very structured base in the form of concrete patios and steel planter beds. Within the confines of these clear formations, wild plantings and vegetation are left to grown and expand beyond their formal confines.

The exterior features a lounge area with fire pit, dining table, upper level bistro table and bbq, and a gorgeous fountain. The fencing, lighting, and pathways are all the small details that make the space feel so cohesive.

Once the exterior was completed, we moved inside to a few unfinished spaces. The guest suite and home gym - that looks out into the yard - needed a makeover as well. We brought in punches of color, some cheeky wallpaper, and plenty of art and texture to bring these spaces to life.

Now, let’s get in formation…
